This scarf is woven by the weavers of the Mangtha Project, started in 2016 by the Kala Swaraj Foundation in the Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh.
The support of Kala Swaraj helps the weavers in this area to develop a sustainable income, with meaningful work in which they can take pride and which enables them to support their family.
This helps the communities they are part of to thrive again, prevents the weaving craft from decline and provides opportunities in an area where there are so few.
